Professional Storyteller: I Got a Story to Tell....
I've been in this game for years...20 to be exact. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I started my journey at The Source Magazine post Temple University. My goal was to be a writer because I loved telling stories. Although I quickly realized that the publication life wasn't for me full-time, I did enjoy a stint as a freelance writer for Hip-Hop and lifestyle magazines including The Source Magazine, XXL Hip-Hop Soul and Complex.
During that time I discovered video production at Music Choice, which served as a boot camp for me. Working with a small team with little resources, I was able to interview, write, produce, shoot, direct and edit shows, telling the stories of some of my favorite artists and music icons. I climbed up the ranks at MC and oversaw the production department for the last 4 of my 12 years spent at the network. In 2017, a full circle moment happened when I joined Complex as a freelancer, this time as an experienced Producer.
Within 10 months I was promoted to the Executive Producer of Originals and then promoted to VP of Programming & Development. After 5 years with the successful digital platform, I took a risk and joined a start-up streaming service as the Chief Content Officer. In my year and a half there, I got to flex strategy muscles and double down on my scrappy background, finding content literally all over to fill up the platform. I've held many titles, but simply, I'm a storyteller who continues to learn and hone all the skills I've been fortunate to acquire in my ongoing career. Creative Chaos is basically my brain and I'm happy to share and learn with others to put more great stories in the world.
